It was a beautiful day on Monday, September 20th, for the grand opening of the Richard P. Whittaker M.D. Memorial Bridge on the Schuylkill River Trail over Route 724.
Dr. Dick Whittaker was a long time Pottstown Rotarian and pillar of the community.
His wife, Peggy, was a major contributor to funding the bridge's creation and is still a member of our club who continues to ride and bike the trail.
There was a great turnout for the opening with many of the attendees riding their bikes to the bridge, including some our members, who turned out
to support Peggy.
