Rotary clubs channel their commitment to service at home and abroad through five Avenues of Service, which are the foundation of club activity. Youth Service, one of the five, recognizes the importance of empowering youth through leadership development programs. Rotary Youth Exchange is one of many youth leadership development programs offered by Rotary and was started in 1920 by Rotary International. This year our club is sponsoring one outbound and one inbound student.  

During our Oct 12th meeting I will introduce the club to our Youth Exchange Program and ways to get involved and help, how our club co-ordinates with District 7340, and the Eastern States Student Exchange (ESSEX) consortium.  The highlight of the evening is that I will introduce you to our inbound student, Daphne - all the way from Belgium, to tell you about herself and her exchange experience so far.

Our end of summer celebration, Pottstown Rotary's Annual Clambake at the Whittaker family home, is officially on for this coming Wednesday August 17th.  

The evening starts out with appetizers by the pool along with the Rotary Club famed Open Bar.  

Dinner starts out with Clam Chowder, followed by clams, BBQ Chicken, salad, sides and dessert.  
Did I mention the Bar is open all night?

The pool will be open along with the hot tub if anyone would like to take a dip.

You don't want to miss this event.  Event is open to members and guests.

Festivities begin around 5:00 pm.
